Rebel Gives Back

REBEL SUPPORTS CAST FOR KIDS 2010
This year 40 children with Autism and Down Syndrome were taken to the shores of Calaveras.  Each child was given his/her very own rod, reel, tackle box, shirt and cap. TP&W stocked catfish and had them roped off so that there were plenty of fish to be caught.  Everyone was fed breakfast and lunch. Each child received a plaque with a photo of them catching fish that day. This event means a lot to the these children and their parents.  We can all agree it is an experience that betters our lives as well as the children.

BOYSVILLE TOURNAMENT

July 26, 2009

Location:  Live Oak Pond

We had a great time at Boysville this year.  Rebel members that participated were Debbie Hunter, Marvin and Carolyn Hammond, Jon Brown, Lauren Brown (Jon's sister), Earl Lackey, and Susan Lackey (Earl's daughter).  There were 37 children from Boysville who attended. Mr. Fish catfish farm in Arkansas donated 400 catfish weighing approx 2lbs each were stocked into the Live Oak pond. Each child was allowed to weigh 5 fish.  Awards went to the Top 3 heavy stringer and to Big Fish.

There were a total of 91 catfish weighed for a total of 183.07lbs.  One boy even caught a turtle.

Plaques were given to each of the winners.  Earl and Susan Lackey gave each of the winners a Zebco rod and reel combo with a pan fish gift pack included to each of the winners on behalf of Rebel Bass Club.

To entertain us, we had girls screaming not wanting to touch the fish, boys showing off their catch, and even a little boy named Romeo who was chasing the ducks trying to catch one. Good times had by all.

Marvin went into the Live Oak lake to get this little girl a Lilly Pad flower. She was very proud to show off her flower to everyone.
