Tournament Rules

REBEL BASS CLUB

TOURNAMENT RULES

(JANUARY 2011, rev 10)

 

 

1. Twelve tournaments will be scheduled each year of which the members top eleven results will be counted towards year-end standings.  The number of fishing days (1 or 2) for each tournament shall be at the discretion of the tournament director.

 

2. Tournament entry fee shall be $20.00 for a one day tournament, $25.00 for a two day tournament, allocated as follows: 65% for tournament funding, 25% for club treasury, 10% for big bass. In the event entry fees are waived for a tournament, points will be awarded only.

 

3. Entry fees shall be paid to the tournament director or a designated tournament committee member by weigh-in time.

 

4. The tournament director is given the responsibility of determining starting times, the safest methods of start, and the duration of the tournament.

 

5. Contestants shall fish from a boat.

 

6. No contestants may fish the Tournament Lake or its tributaries six hours prior to start time given.

 

7. Weigh-in time and sites shall be predetermined by the tournament director. All contestants must be within 100 yards of the weigh-in launch ramp at weigh-in time. Any contestant that is late will not be allowed to weigh fish that day.

 

8. All standard regulations regarding safety, state and federal conservation laws, and local state laws shall be observed.

 

9. Weigh fish shall be black, smallmouth, Kentucky, Guadalupe or spotted bass.

 

10. Limit shall not exceed the number of fish allowed by state law per day per person.

 

11. Only artificial lures may be used.

 

12. All fish shall be caught with a rod and reel, limited to one rod and reel at a time.

 

13. All fish will be measured in accordance with the State Law for the lake from which they are caught.

 

14. No iced, frozen or pale-gilled fish shall be weighed.

 

15. Members will weigh-in their own fish except in cases of emergency. This exception must be approved by the Tournament Director or a member of the tournament committee.

 

16. Any member who fishes and leaves the tournament prior to weigh-in, the tournament fee applies.

 

17. Members who fish the same lake at the same time as a scheduled tournament and does not plan to fish the tournament, must notify the tournament director to be declared as not fishing in the tournament prior to commencement of the tournament; otherwise, tournament fees apply.

 

18. One bonus point shall be added to a contestant’s total points for the tournament for each weigh fish released alive.

 

19. Any and all protests shall be presented to the tournament director or a member of the tournament committee within fifteen minutes after final weigh-in.

 

20. All decisions by the tournament committee shall be final.

 

21. Tournament Location and/or date may be postponed, cancelled, or relocated only for adverse lake, weather, or safety conditions. The Tournament Director must bring his/her concerns to the membership, state his case, cite his reasons and then ask for a vote from the members present. If the membership votes to overrule his/her recommendation, then the members are free to fish wherever they choose and they become personally liable as they have been duly warned. Any other reasons for tournament changes must be submitted at the club meeting 30 days in advance and approved by the majority of members present.

 

22. Common courtesy-no fishing within 100 feet of tournament participant’s boat unless invited.

 

23. Unless unusual circumstances prevent otherwise, all members and guest fishing during a club shall be present at the designated weigh station at the designated time. If they leave before weigh-in, they must notify a club member that is fishing the tournament.

 

24. All boats will be subject to inspection by a member of the tournament committee at their discretion.

 

25. Guest are allowed and encouraged to fish the club tournaments. They are required to adhere to the rules of the club. Guests will be awarded temporary points in a tournament to determine the disbursement of funds. Temporary points will not be used for any calculations for total points for the year. If the guest joins the club at the next scheduled event, in accordance with ARTICLE IV of the constitution, and pays dues, he/she will be allowed to keep their tournament points. Guest may not compete for any trophy or patch presented by the club. Guests are eligible to compete for cash awards. Failure to disclose guests, including family members, to the tournament director, a member of the tournament committee or a club officer prior to the commencement of the tournament; requires tournament fee to be paid.

 

26. Life jackets must be worn while boat is on plane.

 

27. Any contestant violating the aforementioned rules shall be disqualified and tournament fee is forfeited.

 

28. MONTHLY TOURNAMENT STANDINGS:

     A. Tournament standings shall be determined on point’s basis. All monies allotted to tournament funding, pursuant to Rule 2, above, shall be paid to the top six based on the following.

           1.  1st Place-----------------------------27%

           2.  2nd Place----------------------------23%

           3.  3rd Place----------------------------19%

           4.  4th Place----------------------------14%

           5.  5th Place----------------------------10%

           6.  6th Place-----------------------------7%

 

      B. 100% of the big bass money shall be paid to the contestant who weighs the largest

          bass in the tournament. There shall be no minimum weight required.

 

      C. Tournament points shall be determined as follows:

          1. TEN points shall be awarded for fishing the tournament (bonus points)

          2. ONE point shall be awarded for each fish released alive (bonus points)

          3. 1st place- 100 points + bonus points=total points.

          4. 2nd place- 2nd place weight divided by first place weight times 100, plus

             bonus points=total points.

          5. 3rd place- 3rd place weight divided by first place weight times 100, plus

             bonus points=total points.

          6. 4th place- ect., ect

 

D. Each member shall receive ten points for each meeting and/or club sanctioned event attended. These points do not count towards points for each tournament, but are counted towards year-end standings.

E. “Dumbass Bass” award of each month shall be awarded as deemed appropriate by the membership at the monthly meeting immediately following the prior tournament.

 

29. END OF YEAR AWARDS: All awards shall receive a shirt, trophy or plaque.

     A. CLUB CHAMPION

    1. The club champion shall be the individual who has accumulated the most points in the year.
    2. The club champion shall be presented the REVOLVING CLUB CHAMPION TROPHY.

 

B. SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR:

    1. The sportsperson of the year shall be elected by the general membership at the January

       meeting.

    2. Sportsperson of the year should be the individual who epitomizes the qualities of good

       sportsmanship, camaraderie, leadership, teamwork, safety, and preservation of the

       environment; especially with regard to the sport of fishing.

 

C. TOP SIX: The top six individuals are based on total accumulated points for the year.

 

D. BIG BASS OF THE YEAR: The big bass of the year award will be presented to the club member who weighs the largest bass of the year. Big bass of the year must be caught during a club tournament.

 

E. HEAVY STRINGER OF THE YEAR (One Day Tournament): The heavy stringer of the year award will be presented to the club member who weighs the heaviest stringer of the year. The heaviest must be caught during a one day club tournament.

 

F. HEAVY STRINGER OF THE YEAR (Two day tournament): The heavy stringer of the year award will be presented to the club member who weighs the heaviest stringer of the year. The heavy stringer must be caught during a two day club tournament.

 

G. WOMENS DIVISION CHAMPION: A woman’s division shall be established effective January 3, 2005. Existing tournament payout rates shall not be affected by this division. The woman’s division champion shall be the female who has accumulated the most points of the year.

 

H. DUMBASS BASS OF THE YEAR: Dumbass bass of the year will be voted on from the tournament Dumbass Bass recipients throughout the year.
