Well it was the last tournament of the year!
Our original tournament was scheduled for Saturday; however, it was re-scheduled due to predicted snow and ice on Friday, not to melt until noon Saturday. Our tournament director didn't feel it was safe to travel with boats on ice covered bridges.
It was cold Sunday morning, but not unbearable. The day was a good day to be fishing; however, the catching proved to be difficult. Who would have ever thought that our tournament at Canyon Lake would produce more fish than Choke.
Ron' s thoughts on the lack of fish is because the Aliens came down and took them from the lake. Do aliens eat fish??
Lake level is 9.53 feet low. Choke banks are mud with muddy water in the backs of the creeks. Very little grass to be found.
As a result of the cold front that pushed in on Friday and the current condition of the lake, only 5 fish were brought to the scales. We had 12 members who fished. Here are the tournament results:
1st Place - Robert Gohlke 2 fish 8.54lbs
2nd Place - Greg Westall Sr. 1 fish 2.16lbs
3rd Place - Brad Saltz 1 fish 2.02lbs
4th Place - Sandra Neugart 1 fish 1.48lbs
Big Bass - Robert Gohlke 7.24lbs

Alligators came out about 2:00 p.m. for some Sun. They let us get very close. They were too cold to move or worry about us. One tank dam in Four Fingers had 6 alligators on it.

This alligator was dinosaur size. Check out his tummy, looks like he swallow the hole hog.
Posing for the camera

Ron caught himself a duck decoy. He said he is taking it home for the grandbaby boy to play with in the bathtub.
